Scarf Spotlight: Bold Circle Scarf
It is not breaking news that the circle scarf is one of the hottest winter trends. But while walking though the city I see blah, bah, and more blah. I love me a circle scarf but if I see another one in navy, grey, or black I might scream! As a New Yorker I love me some black but you need to have a pop of brightness in your life. There is no better way of adding that punch into your daily outfit than putting a splash of tribal or a bright color into your circle scarf. My boyfriend bought me a red and white knit tribal patterned circle scarf (shown in the attached picture) that I feel fully exemplifies what I am talking about! The brightness and fun pattern adds a little happy to my mornings and to my black winter coat. Because the winters can be so dreary in NYC, why add to the sadness with our scarves?

Hassle-free hairstyles: “The Twist and Clip”
I love a good braid or intricate hair-do, but my hectic high school schedule has no room for a half an hour of hair perfecting. So, I adopted the handy dandy hairstyle I like to call “The Twist and Clip.” The name describes all you have to do. Just create a part to the side (I prefer putting The Twist and Clip on my right side but it is up to you) and then take about half and inch of your hair that is at the start of you forehead and twist it and clip it! You should not need more than two bobby pins but if you have crazy thick hair like myself than I would say use a hair clip. I wear this look to parties in addition to school because it is easy, cute, and leaves you stress free. I added a photo of my Twist and Clip in action.

Jewelry of the month-January: Oversized Hoops

I have never worn hoops, thinking that my hipstery style could not mesh with that look. But, I gave in. Of course, I did not buy your average hoop that all the teens are wearing now. I went big. Their extreme size makes them mix well with the overemphasized patterns and shapes of most of my clothing. Although many can pull off hoops, I pressure girls with long hair to try these enlarged earrings because they casually peak out from behind your hair. This makes it more comfortable to wear these statement earrings because you can show them off by putting your hair up or you can sexily place your hair so that they are just casually shown behind your hair. For now, I just have silver and gold and I would recommend buying both because I can pick which metal fits my mood for the day. My goal at the moment is to finding colored versions of these must-have statement earrings, I am on the hunt.

Here is a link to the ones that I have. Cheap and chic, that is how I like it!
